Products Description of Acetic acid (Industrial Grade)CAS#64-19-7

Acetic acid (chemical formula: CH₃COOH) is a colorless, volatile liquid under ambient temperature conditions.

Its pure form, known as glacial acetic acid, gets the name from its ice-like crystalline appearance when cooled to 15.6°C. Commercially available acetic acid is typically supplied as a 6 N aqueous solution (approximately 36% concentration) or a 1 N aqueous solution (around 6% concentration).

Product Application of  Acetic acid CAS#64-19-7

Acetic acid is a vital industrial chemical.

When it reacts with hydroxyl-containing compounds—particularly alcohols—it forms acetate esters. Its primary application lies in the production of vinyl acetate.

Vinyl acetate can be manufactured via the reaction of acetylene with acetic acid, or alternatively from ethylene and acetic acid.

Through polymerization, vinyl acetate is converted into polyvinyl acetate (PVA), which is widely used in producing fibers, films, adhesives, and latex paints.
