Products Description of Phosphoric acid CAS#7664-38-2

Phosphoric acid is a phosphorus oxoacid where one oxo group and three hydroxyl groups are covalently bonded to a central phosphorus atom.

It functions as a solvent, human metabolite, algal metabolite, and fertilizer. It is also the conjugate acid of dihydrogenphosphate and phosphate ions..

Product Application of  Phosphoric acid CAS#7664-38-2

Phosphoric acid (also known as orthophosphoric acid) is an inorganic acidulant. It is produced by burning phosphorus in excess air to generate phosphorus pentoxide, which is then dissolved in water to form orthophosphoric acid of varying concentrations.

It is a strong acid soluble in water, and its acid salts are called phosphates. In the food industry, it serves as a flavoring acid in cola and root beer beverages, imparting appropriate acidity and tartness.

It acts as a synergistic antioxidant in vegetable shortenings. In yeast production, it helps maintain an acidic pH and provides a phosphorus source. Additionally, it functions as an acidulant in cheese.
