Products Description of Cyclohexene CAS# 110-83-8

Cyclohexene is a cyclic olefin that appears as a colorless, flammable liquid with a distinct pungent odor at room temperature. When left exposed to air for extended periods, it can be oxidized by oxygen to form peroxides. It occurs naturally in coal tar and is highly soluble in organic solvents such as acetone, carbon tetrachloride, benzene, ether, ethanol, and hexane. It can form binary azeotropes with lower alcohols, acetic acid, and similar substances.

Cyclohexene possesses the typical properties of olefins. In the presence of uranium salts, it decomposes rapidly under sunlight or ultraviolet light. When heated for a long time at 200°C in a sealed tube, it remains stable; however, at temperatures between 400–500°C, it converts into benzene and naphthalene.
