Products Description of Paraformaldehyde CAS#30525-89-4
Polyoxymethylene (IUPAC name: POM) is a polymer of formaldehyde, specifically high-molecular-weight polyoxymethylene, with a typical structural chain length ranging from 8 to 100 units.
Long-chain polyoxymethylene is commonly used in the production of heat-resistant plastics, also referred to as polyoxymethylene plastics (abbreviated as POE; DuPont manufactures it under the trade name Delrin).
Polyoxymethylene decomposes rapidly, releasing formaldehyde that has a faint odor.

Product Application of Paraformaldehyde CAS#30525-89-4
Paraformaldehyde is primarily used in the production and application of herbicides. It is also utilized in manufacturing synthetic resins (such as artificial horn or artificial ivory products) and adhesives.
Additionally, it finds use in the pharmaceutical industry—serving as an active ingredient in contraceptive creams—and for disinfecting pharmacies, clothing, and bedding.
Paraformaldehyde can also function as a fumigant, fungicide, and insecticide.
