1,2-Dimethylbenzene CAS# 95-47-6
Products Description of 1,2-Dimethylbenzene CAS# 95-47-6
Xylene is a colorless, flammable liquid with distinct physicochemical properties among its three isomers (o-xylene, m-xylene, and p-xylene).
Physicochemical Properties of Isomers。Melting points: -25.2°C (o-xylene), -47.9°C (m-xylene), and 13.3°C (p-xylene).Boiling points: 144.4°C (o-xylene), 139.1°C (m-xylene), and 138.3°C (p-xylene).Relative densities (per Chemicalbook data): 0.8802 (o-xylene), 0.8642 (m-xylene), and 0.8611 (p-xylene).Solubility: Insoluble in water but miscible with a wide range of organic solvents.
Chemical Reactivity
Upon catalytic oxidation, o-xylene, m-xylene, and p-xylene yield phthalic anhydride, isophthalic acid, and terephthalic acid respectively.
