Products Description of Formic acid CAS#64-18-6

Formic acid is a colorless liquid with a sharp, pungent smell. It is a stable chemical that is corrosive, flammable, and hygroscopic.

It is incompatible with sulfuric acid (H₂SO₄), strong caustics, furfuryl alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, strong oxidizers, and bases. Notably, it reacts violently—even explosively—upon contact with oxidizing agents.
