Products Description of Petroleum Benzene CAS#71-43-2
Petroleum benzene, with the molecular formula C₆H₆, is a transparent, volatile aromatic liquid derived from crude oil processing via naphtha reforming and steam cracking. It has a unique sweet aromatic smell. It exhibits poor solubility in water, yet mixes readily with alcohols, ethers and other conventional organic solvents. As a widely used aromatic feedstock from the petrochemical industry, it boasts consistent quality and fewer impurities relative to coking benzene.
This substance is highly flammable and toxic. Adequate ventilation, open flame restriction and relevant personal protection should be implemented in all stages of storage, shipment and operation.

Product Application of Petroleum Benzene CAS#71-43-2
Petroleum benzene is a foundational raw material for the petrochemical aromatic industry chain. It is extensively processed into ethylbenzene and styrene, which go on to make polystyrene, SBR rubber and various composite polymer materials. It can also be converted into cumene for the phenol-acetone route, cyclohexane as a precursor for nylon-6, plus nitrobenzene and aniline that feed polyurethane and dyestuff intermediate production.
Besides, it is applied to produce alkylbenzene, a key component for surfactants and detergents. Under approved restricted conditions, it may also work as an industrial solvent to dissolve greases and resins.
