Cobalt Sulfate CAS#10124-43-3
Products Description of Cobalt sulfate CAS#10124-43-3
Cobalt(II) sulfate exists in multiple hydrate forms, each with distinct properties. The anhydrous salt is purple orthogonal crystals, with a density of 3.71 g/cm³ and a melting point above 700°C. The monohydrate is crimson orthogonal crystals (density: 3.08 g/cm³) and dissolves slowly in boiling water. The heptahydrate is crimson monoclinic prismatic crystals (density: 2.03 g/cm³); it dehydrates to the hexahydrate at 41°C and further converts to the monohydrate at 74°C. Both the anhydrous salt and heptahydrate are soluble in water.

Product Application of Cobalt sulfate CAS#10124-43-3
Cobalt sulfate (CAS No. 10124-43-3) is a versatile material with targeted uses in diverse industries. In chemical manufacturing, it is an essential raw material that underpins the production of other cobalt-based compounds. In the rapidly developing battery sector, it is a critical component for manufacturing cathode materials of lithium-ion batteries—directly contributing to enhanced battery performance such as longer lifespan or higher capacity. In agriculture, it acts as a trace element fertilizer, addressing cobalt deficiency in plants to support their normal growth and metabolism. Furthermore, it plays roles in electroplating (for refining metal surface quality) and catalyst preparation (as an active ingredient to accelerate chemical reaction rates and improve reaction efficiency).
