Product Details

Products Description of Sodium sulfite CAS#7757-83-7

Sodium sulfite (Na₂SO₃) is usually a white crystalline powder with no odor. It is highly soluble in water and slightly soluble in ethanol. It has strong reducing properties. It is prone to absorb moisture in the air and gradually oxidizes into sodium sulfate; it will rapidly decompose in the presence of strong acids and release sulfur dioxide gas.
