Products Description of Triphenylphosphine CAS#603-35-0
Triphenylphosphine has a molecular formula of C₁₈H₁₅P and a molecular weight of 262.30. It appears as a white to off-white crystalline powder, with good solubility in ether, solubility in benzene, chloroform, and glacial acetic acid, slight solubility in ethanol, and almost no solubility in water. Its melting point ranges from 78.5 to 81.5℃, and its boiling point is above 360℃ (measured in an inert gas).
As an important ligand for homogeneous catalysts, triphenylphosphine is widely used in petrochemical and fine chemical production. Currently, new applications for it are constantly being developed, leading to a year-by-year increase in market demand.

Product Application of Triphenylphosphine CAS#603-35-0
Triphenylphosphine first undergoes sulfonation with oleum to form trisulfonic acid.
It has multiple key applications: it is used in Wittig synthesis and serves as a standard ligand in homogeneous catalysis; it is applied in the ester exchange method to synthesize the organophosphorus intermediate trimethyl phosphite, which can be further processed to produce a series of organophosphorus pesticides such as dichlorvos, monocrotophos, and phosphamidon.
Additionally, triphenylphosphine functions as a stabilizer in rubber and resin synthesis, an antioxidant in polyvinyl chloride, and a raw material in the synthesis of alkyd resins and polyester resins.
