Ketoconazole CAS#65277-42-1
Ketoconazole, a broad-spectrum antifungal agent belonging to the imidazole class, is marketed under trade names such as Jindaconin, Mikangling, and Kening. It exerts its therapeutic effect by highly selectively interfering with the activity of fungal cytochrome P-450, thereby inhibiting the biosynthesis of ergosterol in fungal cell membranes. This medication demonstrates efficacy against both superficial and deep-seated fungal infections—while suppressing fungal growth, it also blocks the transformation of spores into mycelia to prevent progressive infection. It exhibits bacteriostatic activity at low concentrations and bactericidal effects at high doses, with antibacterial action against pathogens including Candida, chromoblastomycetes, Coccidioides, Histoplasma, Sporothrix, and Trichophyton species. Clinically, it is indicated for the treatment of conditions such as tinea manus, tinea pedis, tinea capitis, tinea corporis, tinea cruris, thrush, pityriasis versicolor, and cutaneous candidiasis.

Ketoconazole CAS#65277-42-1 Application
As an imidazole-class antifungal agent, this medication is indicated for treating athlete's foot and excessive dandruff. It functions as a broad-spectrum antifungal drug and also acts as a CYP3A4 inhibitor. Specifically, ketoconazole exhibits extensive antifungal activity, making it suitable for addressing conditions such as candidiasis, chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis, oral thrush, candiduria, blastomycosis, coccidioidomycosis, histoplasmosis, chromomycosis, and paracoccidioidomycosis. Beyond clinical applications, it is utilized in research settings—including identifying p-glycoprotein/CYP3A-limited bioavailability in monkey models, investigating interleukin-1-mediated antitumor effects, and studying in vivo drug interactions.
