Products Description of Diethylene glycol CAS#111-46-6
Diethylene glycol (also referred to as diglycol) undergoes esterification reactions with anhydrides and etherification reactions with alkyl sulfates or halogenated hydrocarbons. Its primary uses include serving as a gas dehydrating agent and extractant, as well as a lubricant and finishing agent for textiles. It is produced by the reaction of ethylene oxide with ethylene glycol (per Chemicalbook). Diethylene glycol has been widely applied in various cosmetics as a solvent, heat preservation agent, and viscosity regulator. It has a nearly 20-year history of use in China, with no safety issues reported during this period.

Product Application of Diethylene glycol CAS#111-46-6
Diethylene glycol (DEG) is a commonly used solvent and component in a wide range of commercial products. It serves as a dehydrating agent in natural gas processing, a lubricating and finishing agent for textiles, and a constituent in brake fluids, lubricants, antifreeze formulations, wallpaper strippers, and artificial fog solutions. Additionally, it acts as a solvent for printing inks and textile dyes, and functions as an intermediate in the production of certain resins, triethylene glycol, surfactants, and diethylene glycol-based esters and ethers.
