.Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid disodium salt (EDTA disodium for short) is a high-efficiency chelating agent. Thanks to its high stability constant and versatile coordination ability, it can form stable water-soluble complexes with nearly all metal ions—including polyvalent ions like iron, copper, calcium, and magnesium (excluding those specified in Chemicalbook). This property allows it to neutralize the adverse effects of metal ions or prevent the harmful reactions they induce.
