2026 World Pharmaceutical Raw Materials Exhibition in Korea: Connecting Global Raw Materials and Empowering Chinese and Korean Pharmaceuticals
The 2026 CPhI China Shanghai Exhibition concluded on June 16th to 18th at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. The exhibition area reached over 240,000 square meters, attracting more than 3,600 exhibitors and over 110,000 professional visitors. Additionally, more than 100 professional forums and events were held during the event. Meanwhile, in Seoul's COEX Convention Center, a dialogue about the future of medicine is about to begin. From August 25th to 27th, 2026, the global pharmaceutical industry's attention will focus on this venue, witnessing the grand opening of the 2026 World Pharmaceutical Raw Materials Korea Exhibition (CPhI Korea). This is not only an important gathering of the Asian pharmaceutical industry chain, but also a key opportunity for deepening cooperation and jointly pursuing development in the pharmaceutical field between China and South Korea.
As the 13th largest pharmaceutical market globally, South Korea is undergoing a profound transformation from "replication" to "innovation". In cutting-edge fields such as synthetic biology and antibody-drug conjugates (ADC), South Korean enterprises have demonstrated strong competitiveness. Meanwhile, China, as the world's largest producer of raw materials for pharmaceuticals and an important pharmaceutical market, possesses a complete industrial chain advantage and is continuously enhancing its innovation capabilities. The complementarity between the two countries in the pharmaceutical industry provides ample space for cooperation.
CPhI Korea serves as the crucial bridge for this collaboration. The exhibition will bring together over 270 exhibitors from around the world and more than 10,000 professional visitors, covering the entire pharmaceutical industry chain including raw materials, intermediates, natural extracts, excipients, and biotechnological solutions. For Chinese enterprises, this is not only a window to showcase their products and expand their channels, but also a platform to understand the market access rules in South Korea and connect with international R&D resources.
During the exhibition, a series of high-level conferences and forums will conduct in-depth discussions on global pharmaceutical policies, technological innovation and market trends. Chinese and Korean enterprises can take this opportunity to engage in practical exchanges on issues such as technology transfer and implementation of results, and jointly explore new cooperation models in research and development, production, and marketing.
From raw material supply to technical cooperation, from market expansion to standard alignment, CPhI Korea offers comprehensive opportunities for the two countries' enterprises to connect. Under the RCEP framework, the collaborative development of China and South Korea's pharmaceutical industries not only helps enhance the resilience and competitiveness of the regional industrial chain, but also contributes Eastern wisdom to the global pharmaceutical and health industry.
In August 2026, at COEX in Seoul, let's use raw materials as the medium and innovation as the wings, and jointly embark on a new chapter of Sino-Korean pharmaceutical cooperation.
