Tetrabutyl titanate CAS#5593-70-4
Products Description of Tetrabutyl titanate CAS#5593-70-4
Tetrabutyl titanate (CAS#5593-70-4), also called tetrabutyl titanate in Chinese, presents as a colorless to pale yellow transparent liquid under room temperature conditions, emitting an ester-like odor. When exposed to air, it will gradually turn turbid and undergo hydrolysis reactions. It can be mixed with organic solvents including ethanol and ether, while it has low solubility in water and tends to decompose once it comes into contact with water.

Product Application of Tetrabutyl titanate CAS#5593-70-4
Titanium(IV) n-butoxide is applied to guide the preparation of anatase-phase nanosized titania powders and ferroelectric bismuth titanate thin films. It also acts as an intermediate, as well as an additive for paints and coatings, a processing aid, and a process regulator in relevant fields. Additionally, it participates in the room-temperature synthesis of nanocrystalline titanium dioxide powders. Titanium(IV) butoxide serves as a raw material for producing titanium oxide (TiO₂), which can further be used in various scenarios including dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs), and coatings with photocatalytic or self-cleaning functions.
