Products Description of Anthracene CAS #7778-54-3

Anthracene is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon compound containing three rings, with the molecular formula C₁₄H₁₀. It occurs naturally in coal tar. The centers of the three rings of anthracene are aligned in a straight line, and it is an isomer of phenanthrene.Anthracene exists as white flaky crystals or pale yellow needle-shaped crystals, and exhibits a pale blue fluorescence. Its physical properties are as follows: melting point 216℃, boiling point 340℃, relative density 1.283 (25/4℃); it is easy to sublime; it is insoluble in water, sparingly soluble in ethanol and ether, but readily soluble in hot benzene.
